
The Connecticut Energy Finance and Investment Authority provides a rebate for solar PV installations based on system production. Block 1 funding has been exhaused. On May 18, 2012 CEFIA Board will vote to open Block 2 funding. The rebate will be based on performance up to 10kW. The first 5 kW will be $2.09/watt and 5kW and above is $90.
CL&P and UI are currently accepting proposals for solar projects under a renewable energy credit payment program mandated in the new CT energy bill passed in July 2011. These utility companies will offer long term contracts for the mWh's that a solar pv system produces.

Finance your solar system via the Connecticut Housing Investment Fund, CHIF. Single-family homeowner may borrow up to $25,000 and multi-family property owner may borrow up to $2000 (maximum $60,000 per building) per unit for a period of 10 years.

H.R.1 - The Department of Treasury is offering a 30% federal tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations. A renewable energy grant may be given instead of the tax credit if construction begins before December 31, 2011.
H.R. 4853 Corporate Depreciation - Eligible solar pv systems placed into service before January 1, 2012 qualifies for 100% first year bonus depreciation.
